Devices in the MAX3490AE are ±20kV ESD-protected RS-485/422 transceivers, optimized for extended cable runs in noisy environments. All devices operate from a single 3.3V supply.

The MAX3490AE are full-duplex transceivers. The MAX3490AE have a 1/4-unit load receiver input impedance, allowing up to 128 transceivers on the bus. Each transceiver includes a fail-safe receiver, ensuring that the receiver output (RO) is high when inputs are shorted, open, or connected to a three-state bus.

The MAX3490AE are available in industry standard 8-pin SO package.
